Nanowrimo is coming! National Novel Writing Month. November 1-30 www.nanowrimo.org
30 Days of Literary Abandon. 50,000 words in 30 days. It’s totally free and they even have a Young Writer’s Program.
This will be my 5th year! I love getting that story down on paper finally. Publishing is another story. (smile)
I don’t even remember how I found nanowrimo five years ago, but I’m glad I did. I have written three 50,000 word books and some of them I see have potential while the others, not so much. It’s all about getting the story out. No editing. No second guessing. Just write. Editing is for December. Check it out. It’s so much fun. We have word wars and write-ins. There’s plenty of support, locally, nationally and globally. Nanowrimo is all over the world. You’ll even be able to find a local group near you. This is a vast network of people who love to write. Give it a try. The ultimate prize for winning is your manuscript so if you don’t get exactly 50,000 words, be happy! You started that novel…finally. They’ve also partnered with Createspace by Amazon.com so when you reach your 50,000 word goal, the past 3 years Createspace has been giving away codes for a free proof of your novel. Just imagine that book in your hand if you needed more incentive than the knowledge that you finally finished that book you’ve been meaning to write. Hopefully Createspace will partner again this year.
Whoever wants to join me this year, my ID is resi3.
